Transfer
- Contracts with companies (2024–2025): use of clays to improve microalgal biomass production and quality; monitoring and control of the CHLYDRO pilot plant; CO₂ capture during beer packaging via photobioreactor; and an algae-based CO₂ capture and valorisation process.
- Collaborations with HUN-REN SZTAKI, University College Dublin, Agroscope, LNEG, NOVA University Lisbon, IRTA, GreenCoLab and several national and international universities.
Training & courses
- Courses in Buenos Aires (Argentina): microalgae-based effluent treatments and biotechnological strategies applied to microalgae; “Training in algae-related industrial processes” (Almería) and “Communication and Dissemination of Science and Innovation” (online).
- UAL summer courses: “Almería, cradle of the sun and renewable energies”, “Almería and the future of the circular blue economy” and “Almería at the forefront of reclamation and desalination”.
Outreach
- 1st EU-SOLARIS Summer School; “Peque CIEMAT: Sun and water” children’s workshop (CEIP Mar Mediterráneo) and “Water and Solar Energy” talks at IES Bahía de Almería and IES Celia Viñas.
- European Researchers’ Night (European MEDNIGHT project); CIEMAT outreach at IES Galileo; and seminars at the University of Cantabria, the MELODIZER project and the “Seas and Coasts of Andalusia 2025” course.
