Isabel Oller, CIESOL researcher, awarded in the STEM category at the 4th MIA Awards
Last Friday, April 17th, the Maestro Padilla Auditorium hosted the gala celebration of the 4th MIA Awards (Influential Women of Almería). The event, which brought together over 500 people, has consolidated itself as an essential space where institutions, companies, and citizens come together to highlight the talent, career, and impact of leading women who drive the development of the province.
In this edition, the Solar Energy Research Center (CIESOL) is celebrating thanks to the recognition granted to Isabel Oller Alberola, a researcher linked to our center and the Plataforma Solar de Almería. Isa Oller was honored with the award in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) category, an award that highlights her immense contribution to science and global sustainability.
Upon accepting the award, the researcher delivered an inspiring speech in which she emphasized the vital importance of making scientific work visible to society, while also dedicating some emotional words to thank her family for their unconditional support throughout her career.
The MIA Awards represent a firm commitment to promoting equal opportunities and publicly recognizing female leadership through real stories that pave the way. This fourth edition had the institutional support of the Almería City Council and the Provincial Council, as well as the backing of sponsors such as Grupo Parra, Grupo ATU, Grupo Cajamar, and FAAM. La Voz de Almería and Cadena SER Almería participated as official media partners.
