Cultivating Resilience: Climate Change Adaptation Strategies for Greenhouses to Enhance Yield and Resource Efficiency (LIFE-ACCLIMATE)
LIFE23-CCA-ES-LIFE-ACCLIMATE

Summary
The main objective of the LIFE-ACCLIMATE project is to implement and demonstrate a sustainable and resource-efficient greenhouse horticulture model as a climate change adaptation strategy, leveraging the use of advanced technologies such as ground and aerial robots, artificial intelligence (AI), and decision support systems (DSS). The project aims to demonstrate the benefits of this model in terms of crop performance, resource-use efficiency, environmentally based pest and disease management, and resource protection.
LIFE-ACCLIMATE will showcase how an integrated solution—comprising a ground and aerial robotic platform, AI algorithms, and a decision support system for the intelligent and sustainable management of greenhouses, deployed in two geographic locations (across three different demonstration greenhouses)—can enable efficient, sustainable, and smart greenhouse operations. LIFE-ACCLIMATE technologies will address climate change adaptation and resource optimization, reducing the environmental footprint of intensive agriculture in line with the goals of the Green Deal.
