H2O-Adsorb: Smart Digital Platform for the Analysis of Contaminants and Adsorbents in Surface Aquatic Ecosystems
-

Summary
General Objective: To implement a smart digital platform that integrates dynamic geospatial information on water contaminants reported in aquatic bodies throughout Chile, and employs predictive algorithms to recommend the best options for adsorbent materials according to the characteristics of the system to be treated, in order to support informed technical decisions in environmental remediation processes.
Specific Objectives: 1. To design a structured database, searchable by contaminant type and region, covering contaminants reported in surface waters throughout Chile and their main characteristics. 2. To generate a dynamic geospatial model representing information on the spatio-temporal distribution and concentration of contaminants reported in surface water bodies throughout Chile using Python, to facilitate user interaction with the contaminant database. 3. To develop a theoretical procedure through a chemoinformatics approach to gain a deep understanding of the nature of the interactions between water contaminants and adsorbent materials. 4. To develop an intuitive digital interface featuring maps, charts, and downloadable reports that facilitates the search and comparison of data on water contaminants and offers automated recommendations on optimal adsorbent materials.
